Kairi rushed home full of sorrow and some anger. When she got home, she slammed the door and went up to her room. She slammed that door too and buried her face in a pillow and cried. Kairi heard a knock at the door, downstairs and slinked out of bed. She opened the door and answered with sorrow, "Who's there?"
"Just me, Nami." Namine said.
"What's wrong?" Namine asked, observing Kairi's face.
Kairi turned away. "Nothing." She replied.
"Is it…that boy?" She whispered.
She didn't answer. Her response was caught in her throat. Another tear fell from Kairi's eye.
"Its just… he keeps leaving me, telling me he won't leave me again…" Kairi trailed off.
"But he does?" Nami guessed.
Kairi nodded.
"Hey, come on. Why don't we visit the tea shop down the street? I heard they serve some special tea for sad people." Nami winked.
Kairi laughed.
"Okay, I'll go."
Kairi walked out of her house and turned and locked her door.
Kairi stopped before following Namine.
"Kai-"
Kairi took off running into the forest.
"Not again…" Namine sighed.
"Kairi!" Namine shouted.
"Stay there, Nami!"

"I can't take it anymore…" Kairi bit her lip.
Kairi was now in the middle of the forest.
I began crying and sank to the ground.
A hand appeared on her shoulder.
"Kairi…"
Kairi got to feet quickly.
"Oh… It's you." Kairi said.
Kairi took a step back.
"Kairi, listen…"
"No! I'm tired of you trying to swoon me! Because every time you do, you disappear! Even when you tell me, you'll never leave my side!"
"Kairi…" Sora said, extending an hand out to grab her.
Kairi noticed this and almost went deeper into the forest, had a wolf not been blocking her path.
It growled.
Kairi couldn't move she was frozen with terror.
"Kairi! Move!" Sora shouted, running towards her.
It was the wolf that had tried to hurt Kairi about a day ago. It now had a scar on his eye and blood coming out of its mouth.
Sora reached Kairi with key blade in hand.
Kairi was finally able to move but…
"Sora! Look out!" She pointed towards the wolf.
It had caught Sora off guard and was trying to get his eye.
Sora was on his back using his key blade to keep the wolf off his chest.
"Hey!" Kairi said, and threw a stick and some pebbles at the wolf.
It turned to look at her and got off Sora.
Sora took his chance and hit the wolf in the back. It growled fearlessly and swiped Sora in the shoulder.
"Fudge…" Sora said, feeling immense pain.
Kairi ran towards Sora and caught him before he fell to the ground.
"Sora! Sora!" Kairi said. "Don't go…" She said, tears falling from her eyes.
He touched her face.
"I'll always be with you, I promise." He smiled, and kissed her before her fainted.

"Sora…." Kairi whispered, holding his hand to her face.
Namine obviously didn't feel like 'staying' any longer, she had found Kairi.
"Kairi! What…"
Kairi looked up at Namine.
"He-help me, please."
"Ye-yeah. Lemme call Aqua."
While Nami called Aqua to take them to the hospital, Kairi looked down at Sora and whispered,
"Who else will protect me?"

Aqua had arrived and helped the two teen girls carry Sora into her car.
Kairi felt a hand on hers.
She looked down to see who's.
"Sora!" She whispered.
Kairi was sitting in the back seat of Aqua's car while Namine sat in the front with Aqua.
"I just wanted to say….I love you…"
"I love you too…" Kairi whispered.
Sora closed his eyes again, his breathing slowing.
"FASTER!!" Kairi shouted.
Aqua and Namine were startled by this and Aqua sped up. Good thing, Vanitas was taking a nap on the job.
A ticket right now would not be good.

They had made it to the hospital.
Axel was there doing community service and offered to take Sora in. He came back out in five minutes to tell Kairi, Namine and Aqua the news.
"He…. Didn't make it, Kairi." Axel said, looking away.
Kairi tried her best to keep her composure.
"I…I need to be alone…" Kairi replied, looking towards the ground.
"Kairi…" Nami began.
"Please!"
Aqua looked at Axel who nodded and lead Namine away from Kairi and the lifeless Sora.
When the others got out of sight, Kairi slipped into Sora's room.
She went up to Sora's bedside.
"It's not true. I know it. I believe it. You said you'd never leave my side, remember?" Kairi said.
Kairi tiptoed up to Sora and kissed him gently on the lips. She stopped kissing him and took his hand in hers.
She interlocked their fingers together. "I love you, remember? You can't leave… Come back, please…"
Kairi took her hand out of his. She handed for the door when she heard a voice whisper softly, "Kairi?"
Kairi turned around.
"Sora….Sora! You're back!!" She rejoiced and leaped onto his lap.
"You brought me back." He smiled.
"I have a knack for doing that." She smiled.
"I'm glad." He smiled again.
Kairi leaned closing to Sora.
"Promise you won't leave me again?" She whispered.
"Promise."
He held her in his arms and then kissed her. It was a passionate kiss.
Kairi let go. "Oh no! Aqua and Namine!"
"What?"
"Come on!" She said, getting out of his lap.
She pulled him out of the bed and rushed towards Aqua, Namine and Axel.
They gasped and Axel just said, "Princesses." and scoffed.
Everyone laughed.
Later on, Aqua took Kairi back home with Sora in tow.
Kairi and Sora said good bye and headed behind Kairi's house to hill.
"This has to be the most beautiful day ever. Especially with you here by my side." Kairi said,
"I agree." Sora replied.
Sora leaned towards Kairi's face and Kairi leaned in too.
"I love you," Sora said.
"I love you, too." Kairi replied.
And they kissed underneath a beautiful starry night sky.
